One day, Óðinn was sitting on his throne, Hlidskjalf, and he looked out across all of the world. There were things he didn't KNOW though, and this - he did not like. For his thirst for knowledge and secrets was never quenched. He went to Mimir, and a bargain was struck. He was to give up, sacrifice, his eye - and he did so without any second thought. Mimir gave him a cup to drink from the well of knowledge.

However.. Óðinn had other ideas to attempt and sate his appetite for secrets.
